Aksi yang "Sedang Terjadi" di Masa Lalu

Past Continuous menceritakan aksi yang sedang berlangsung pada titik waktu tertentu di masa lalu. Sering digunakan untuk memberi latar belakang cerita.

E.g. "At 7 PM yesterday, I was studying."

Was: I, He, She, It

Were: You, We, They

Positive (+)

S + was/were + V-ing

They were sleeping.

Negative (-)

S + be + not + V-ing

They weren't sleeping.

Question (?)

Was/Were + S + V-ing?

Were they sleeping?

⚡ The Interruption (Kombinasi Tense)

While + Past Continuous:
"While I was studying, my mom called."

When + Simple Past:
"I was studying when my mom called."

Pro Tip: Gunakan While untuk proses yang lama, dan When untuk kejadian yang tiba-tiba memotong.
